All exclusive brand products must be inspected before they can be shipped to our stores and warehouses. This inspection is performed by trained Quality Control Auditors who will determine if the merchandise meets JCPenney's quality standards.

The supplier presents all the merchandise in an organized way and the auditor selects random samples based on a statistical chart. The auditor verifies if the selected samples meet JCPenney specifications for packing, sizing, construction, and general quality attributes.

The auditor also selects samples to be sent to our testing laboratories to verify that the merchandise will pass the appropriate performance tests regarding shrinkage, color fastness and durability.

Suppliers are rated according to their quality performance and ability to produce consistently high quality products.
